Edge Play

Fisting!!!

Most people consider fisting to be edge-play, but in my world it is not. Fisting is one of my very favorite activities, and so I have gotten very good at it. Contrary to popular belief, it does not have to be awful, and in fact, I am very sure that I can change your whole world and give you the best orgasm of your life if you submit to this particular challenge.

face slapping Face-slapping is edge-play because it is highly dangerous. Even if one knows exactly what they are doing it can go wrong. The jaw is attached primarily by muscle and not bone. Moving the lower jaw without the upper jaw can cause dislocation without much force. The tiny bones and blood vessels found in the eyes, nose and ears are susceptible to damage if a strike lands wrong. All that said, it is really fun! I am very good at slapping and get a great deal of enjoyment out of it. I love this especially in combination with intense role-play.

Fire-play is considered edge play by most, but honestly it is less dangerous than it seems. Fire-play using rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs feels no more intense than warm water hitting you in the shower. Burning, using cigarettes, cigars, or lighters is much more painful and leaves obvious marks unless the burns are well placed, but the care for the wounds is easy enough and there is really no real danger as long as this is done.

Breath-play is as dangerous as you make it. Smothering, although scary, is easy to control if you know how long is long enough. Choking is more dangerous because of the lack of blood flow to the brain and the potential for damaging the larynx or throat. The best part about breath-play is really the fear factor. Most people can hold their breath a lot longer if they do not panic…but I am very good at causing panic! Plastic increases the danger, especially if the sub panics. Hanging brings us back to the concerns of blood flow and throat or neck damage. I am always well prepared with scissors as well as a CPR mask. I have yet to need either. I have been CPR certified for 7 years. There is a whole other aspect to breath-play as well, that is not dangerous. I often teach subs different ways of breathing so that I can have them initiate them at anytime to relax them, make them sweat, hyperventilate them, or whatever other purpose I have.

Electrical play is scary, but no longer all that threatening. The devices that I use are made for this purpose and so they are under my control. Granted, I am better prepared to use them than most average people because of my years in BDSM and my knowledge of the human body. I would not recommend screwing around with a TENS or Violet Wand, but in the hands of someone that knows what they are doing, they are not all that dangerous.

Needles are edge-play more for the danger in blood than anything else. The fear of needles is bigger than the actual pain they cause and they leave little to no mark. The danger, or course, comes down to safety. Proper procedure includes knowing how to set up a safer sex piercing environment, how to clean the skin and perform an insertion and how to properly remove and dispose of the needle and clean the wound. I know how to do all of these things from my experiences and training in the lifestyle, and from nursing school. I knew I suffered through that for something! It is important to note that I will not do needle-play or any other blood-play with first time clients.

Enemas, catheterization, forced vomiting, use of drugs/medication might also be considered edge-play.

Emotional Edge-play might include fear play, race/gender identity, rape play, incest play; this list is never ending.
